Simhah ben Samuel of Vitry

(d. 1105)
   French scholar. He was a pupil of Rashi. He compiled the Mahzor Vitry, which is regarded as an author-itative source for the prayerbook, synagogue customs and the hymnology of medieval French Jewry.
